My name’s Jenny and I’m one of the Marisota girls (click here for more info about me!) , I love all things fashion (particularly shoes – and even more particularly stylish wide fitting ones). I’m here to give you a quick update on one of this season’s hottest trends. With spring and summer well on their way we need to prepare for the months of garden parties, barbeques and drinks on the patio. So these are a few of my quick tips for dressing to impress this season

These stylish spot hem pedal pushers are a perfect choice for spring; the ¾ leg is flattering whilst the spot hem is a great element of detail – a must this season. These would look particularly fabulous with this white cutwork gypsy top from Joanna Hope. It’s floaty and feminine but comfortable at the same time. The ¾ length sleeves are effortlessly flattering and perfect for if you burn easily, or to keep off the chill as the evening draws to a close.

Another fantastic option is this stylish sequin trim print skirt from Joanna Hope, wear it with one of Marisota’s simple camis (and a waist belt if you prefer) to get a simple, stylish look.

If you want to get the full on summer feeling then this maxi dress is ideal. It’s comfortable, flattering and comes in a choice of lengths so you’ll get your perfect look and fit!

Now as you know (or you will soon) shoes are my weakness, so where would my post be without some recommendations!

These Caryn Franklin gladiator wedges are some of my absolute favourites, these wedges are comfortable but still have a heel and have strap detail, plus they come in a variety of widths!

If you favour a flatter style then these Emotion sandals are perfect. They’re just strappy enough for smart occasions but are still great for regular wear, plus with their great range of sizes and widths you know you’ll be exquisitely comfortable.

Somewhere in the middle

Winter is on it’s way out but we’re not quite into spring yet, so Marisota have got some great choices that are just warm enough to keep out the lingering chill, but light enough to continue being a wardrobe staple right through to summer!

The top – This Anna Scholz sequin trim tunic is ideal for this season. With 3/4 length sleeve it doesn’t commit to being a summer or winter look but instead word for both. The sequin detail is stunning, and just subtle enough to wear with jeans in the day or to glam up at night!

Get in the Garden! - More on this later!

It’ll soon be getting warmer, and I for one can’t wait to get outside! I love the barbeque season and the garden party style is on its way up. Get this look perfect by remembering our 3 alfresco dining essentials:

·    Colour – get the Spring/ Summer style with pretty prints, pastel shades and even full on brights. The perfect way to give your day a lift! Floral print is one to look out for!

·    Detail – Attention to detail is a must, whether it’s frills, buttons or a well-placed belt!

·    Texture – This season is all about floaty, feminine fabrics. Simply wear a light floral maxi dress with gladiator sandals for feminine chic!

Now…..the final installment on our top party pieces for the season. Marisota have come up with some fantastic partywear collections to suit you. The Marisota cocktail partywear range is perfect for evening wear somewhere in between glamour partywear and our value range. Cocktail partywear is perfect for office Christmas parties, nights out with your friends and (especially) anywhere cocktails are involved.

To me, cocktail party clothing is all about selection. Choosing one key piece and accessorising accordingly, for example a signature dress teamed with subtle but coordinating shoes, bag and underwear is far better than lots of key pieces that clash. Well I think by now you might be aware that in the past I’v struggled to find nice shoes and boots to fit me, but if you knew that you probably also know that now I shop at Marisota it’s no longer a problem!

Boots are my absolute favourite choice for Autumn, they work well with trousers but also with dresses or skirts and tights. They’re great for wet weather and keep your toes snug. But my problem was always that they kept my legs a little too snug, if they would do up at all!

These Legroom high leg suede boots are my idea of shoe heaven. They’re real leather (suede), available in sizes up to EEE fit and come in gorgeous black with silver detail and brown with gold buckles.

However, I don’t always want to wear heels. This is where my fringe hi leg boots come in. They’re available in tan and black and come in sizes 4 – 9 and widths to EEE.
All you need to do now is decide which colour best matches your wardrobe (I went for black myself!)!

Sometimes I want something on the glitzy side, for something shiny I love these Isabella Cole high leg patent boots.

How exciting! There’s now a brand new section on the Marisota website called Marisota World.

On it you can find the latest style news, product reviews, style advice and more as well as information about me and the other Marisota girls.

Plus there’s a “Get the look” feature about the new film “Coco before Chanel”, I have to say I adore the boucle jacket.

Another great bit of Marisota World is the “as recommended by..” section. Good Housekeeping magazine recently did a feature on Marisota and I love that I can keep up with the “buzz” so to speak.

But my absolute favourite is Shop the TV ad.

I had so much fun filming the TV Ad and absolutely loved the outfits, it really rang true with my experience of Marisota, so me and the other girls have each given our “tuppence” worth and contributed to the page.

Obviously my favourite items were those I wore myself, I find it a real struggle to get skirts and trousers in my leg length so Marisota is a God send!

From the smart jeans with their lovely deep indigo colour, bootcut style and perfect leg length.

to the lovely outfit of red pleat neck jersey top, wide leg trousers and weave belt which were all exactly my style!

And finally my absolute favourite the Print Jersey Tie Front Dress, it’s perfect for a meal out, night out or even work with the right accessories.

I read this article the other week about how, as times get tight and it becomes every man (and woman) for themself in the work place, people are starting to abandon ‘office casual’ clothes and return to smarter times of shirts, ties and suits in the hope of hanging on to their jobs.

I do think there’s a lot to be said for wearing smart clothes for work. It’s important to make a good impression, especially when you’re meeting customers or patients face to face. Then again, you don’t want intimidate anybody either. Well, I don’t anyway! Also, if you’re wearing something all day long you need to be comfortable. I’m glad I’m a woman and can choose from so many styles of clothes - I always hated wearing a shirt and tie at school. Hot, uncomfortable - and boring!

Marisota makes dressing for work easy - I love their plus size range of soft tailoring. You can mix and match to suit your mood and it’s got just the right blend of smart and feminine.

I love these plus size linen suit separates. You can choose stretch linen trousers or a pencil skirt to go with the ladies’ linen jacket and there’s a choice of cream or coral - perfect for the spring/summer season. And, because it’s Marisota, both the skirt and the trousers are available in a shorter length option. Hurray!

I wasn’t so sure about ‘Western’ as a fashion trend when I first read about it - never been a big one for cowboy boots or cowboy hats! However if you start thinking pretty prairie-style prints teamed with tan coloured leather and durable denim jeans you’ve got a really wearable look. Don’t forget fab tasselled accessories to complete your outfit. Yee-haw!

So that rounds off our focus on top fashion trends for Spring - and how to get the look in a plus size clothes range at Marisota. We’ve had Safari, Geometric, Metallic, Neutrals, Brights and Western. Which will you be wearing?

Well, the weather certainly doesn’t look like it’s going to cheer up any time soon. So it makes the next big fashion trend for spring a particularly appealing one just now - Brights! The brighter and bolder the better. From fiery red, to sunshine yellow and rich magenta these Marisota plus size clothes are sure to lift any mood - whatever the weather.

It’s impossible to feel neutral over this fashion trend - I love it! Usually I go for big and bold colours but there is something so pretty and feminine about these muted colours, and just perfect for warmer spring days. Don’t forget nude coloured underwear to wear underneath -it’s a much better bet than white lingerie which can show through pale colours.
