Lisa’s top picks for the season

I’m Lisa, one of the Marisota girls, and I just thought I would introduce myself. I have to confess, I have a major weakness for lingerie, but because I take a bigger bra size I’ve really struggled to find the right fit, until now that is.

My problem wasn’t finding bras, it was finding pretty or sexy lingerie to fit me, and that offered the comfort and support I needed. Now that I shop at Marisota there’s plenty of choice available for me, I just have trouble deciding which ones to choose. I think I’ve finally made a decision so I thought I’d share my top lingerie in the Marisota Spring/Summer collection.

1)    Everyday bras and knickers

This bra two pack is ideal for everyday wear; you get one white and one lemon bra in the multipacks. Plus the cotton jersey cups are really comfortable and it’s only £15 for the two! Bargain!

My name’s Jenny and I’m one of the Marisota girls (click here for more info about me!) , I love all things fashion (particularly shoes – and even more particularly stylish wide fitting ones). I’m here to give you a quick update on one of this season’s hottest trends. With spring and summer well on their way we need to prepare for the months of garden parties, barbeques and drinks on the patio. So these are a few of my quick tips for dressing to impress this season

These stylish spot hem pedal pushers are a perfect choice for spring; the ¾ leg is flattering whilst the spot hem is a great element of detail – a must this season. These would look particularly fabulous with this white cutwork gypsy top from Joanna Hope. It’s floaty and feminine but comfortable at the same time. The ¾ length sleeves are effortlessly flattering and perfect for if you burn easily, or to keep off the chill as the evening draws to a close.

Another fantastic option is this stylish sequin trim print skirt from Joanna Hope, wear it with one of Marisota’s simple camis (and a waist belt if you prefer) to get a simple, stylish look.

If you want to get the full on summer feeling then this maxi dress is ideal. It’s comfortable, flattering and comes in a choice of lengths so you’ll get your perfect look and fit!

Now as you know (or you will soon) shoes are my weakness, so where would my post be without some recommendations!

These Caryn Franklin gladiator wedges are some of my absolute favourites, these wedges are comfortable but still have a heel and have strap detail, plus they come in a variety of widths!

If you favour a flatter style then these Emotion sandals are perfect. They’re just strappy enough for smart occasions but are still great for regular wear, plus with their great range of sizes and widths you know you’ll be exquisitely comfortable.

Somewhere in the middle

Winter is on it’s way out but we’re not quite into spring yet, so Marisota have got some great choices that are just warm enough to keep out the lingering chill, but light enough to continue being a wardrobe staple right through to summer!

The top – This Anna Scholz sequin trim tunic is ideal for this season. With 3/4 length sleeve it doesn’t commit to being a summer or winter look but instead word for both. The sequin detail is stunning, and just subtle enough to wear with jeans in the day or to glam up at night!

It’ll soon be getting warmer, and I for one can’t wait to get outside! I love the barbeque season and the garden party style is on its way up. Get this look perfect by remembering our 3 alfresco dining essentials:

·    Colour – get the Spring/ Summer style with pretty prints, pastel shades and even full on brights. The perfect way to give your day a lift! Floral print is one to look out for!

·    Detail – Attention to detail is a must, whether it’s frills, buttons or a well-placed belt!

·    Texture – This season is all about floaty, feminine fabrics. Simply wear a light floral maxi dress with gladiator sandals for feminine chic!

It’s that time of year again, we’re all trying to find the perfect outfit for the Christmas party, and it can be tricky especially have a shorter leg length or struggle to find comfortable party shoes, and even more so if you want to wear something a bit different from everyone else. So I thought I would let you in on a few secrets about how to look fabulous and even get a bit of the “strictly” look this Autumn/ Winter. Marisota is here to help; there are some great sections on glamour partywear, cocktail wear and stunning pieces that offer great value whilst being wardrobe staples you’ll wear again and again!

How exciting! There’s now a brand new section on the Marisota website called Marisota World.

On it you can find the latest style news, product reviews, style advice and more as well as information about me and the other Marisota girls.

Plus there’s a “Get the look” feature about the new film “Coco before Chanel”, I have to say I adore the boucle jacket.

Another great bit of Marisota World is the “as recommended by..” section. Good Housekeeping magazine recently did a feature on Marisota and I love that I can keep up with the “buzz” so to speak.

But my absolute favourite is Shop the TV ad.

I had so much fun filming the TV Ad and absolutely loved the outfits, it really rang true with my experience of Marisota, so me and the other girls have each given our “tuppence” worth and contributed to the page.

Obviously my favourite items were those I wore myself, I find it a real struggle to get skirts and trousers in my leg length so Marisota is a God send!

From the smart jeans with their lovely deep indigo colour, bootcut style and perfect leg length.

to the lovely outfit of red pleat neck jersey top, wide leg trousers and weave belt which were all exactly my style!

And finally my absolute favourite the Print Jersey Tie Front Dress, it’s perfect for a meal out, night out or even work with the right accessories.

I’ve just been to see the film Coco before Chanel and it got me thinking about timeless fashion. Despite the fact the film takes place long before Gabrielle Chanel became the iconic Coco Chanel it still exudes some of the classic Chanel style and beauty.

I think all of us want to capture some of that timeless style, and I think I’ve managed it with this boucle jacket from Marisota.
It definitely has the Chanel feel without the hefty price tag.

It’s simple and chic. Time is ticking away and the Autumn/ winter brochure launch is getting closer. Of course this means we’ve been busy shooting images for the new collection. I have to say the new ranges are gorgeous, and as always I’m impressed by the underwear.

Being the ideal Marisota underwear customer I really enjoy the lingerie shoots, I think Marisota lingerie looks great on me, plus it feels really comfortable and supportive! I thought I’d give you a sneak peek at the shoot before the collection comes out.

Maybe not quite paying attention!

Coleen Nolan, Denise Welch and Andrea Mclean recently gave the Marisota Miraclesuit a test run. In an interview with Woman Magazine (15th June 2009) they discussed their body hangups over the years and their top tips for looking good in your 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.

Andrea Mclean, in her 30’s said that she is generally toned but worries about her tummy due to a hernia.  She’s also working on her bingo wings using free weights. She said that she does feel under pressure in the television industry to be thin, but not when she’s with the other Loose Women.

Coleen’s  issue (in her 40’s)is with her stomach, but at the same time she’s a lot happier with her body now than she has been before. She said that there’s always things you can work on. Her top tip is a good bra and not worrying about your age. She’s worked on her body for 2 years and her stint on Strictly come Dancing helped her tone up.

Denise said that in her 50’s she’s quite happy with her body, and is no longer obsessed with trying to be a size 10.  Her top tip was wearing heels because they give you good posture and dressing for your age. She said that when she was younger she tried all sorts of fad diets, and extreme eating regimes, but that over time they’ve aged her.

We’ve been getting some great weather recently, and many of you will be going on holiday soon (as will I when the holidays finally arrive) so I thought I would let you know about the range of swimwear here at Marisota.

As you may know I have had issues in the past with finding bras that fit properly and look good, if so, you may also know that Marisota has been fantastic in that department. But now they are also my saviours in terms of swimwear!

Their underwired swimsuits are perfect for those of us who need that little extra support. I love this underwired swimsuit, which is priced between £32 and £36. A definite bargain for a gorgeous swimsuit in a timeless style.

But…. it wouldn’t be fair if I only gave recommendations to people with the same problems as me. We Marisota girls need to stick together.

For those of you who need a little more volume then this bright graphic print swimsuit is perfect!

If you want to give your cleavage a bit of limelight then look out for v-neck swimsuits. My personal favourite is this silhouette v-neck swimsuit…
