Now that we are well and truly into Spring, (apparently!) and most people are preparing themselves for the big spring clean, it seems like to right time to make some changes to our home. Whether its fully decorating, or just adding the finishes touches ready for the Summer, we’ve got some handy tips for you.

The Marisota team stumbled across some ‘dream home’ pictures, and we seem its only fair we share our findings and tell you how to achieve the look.

Living Room

We love this contemporary bright living room! The mix of wooden floors and the Large Shaggy Rug is really fashionable in home trends at the moment.  Another big hit for us is the combination of the traditional walnut on the Genova Coffee Table and the modern white tones in the Grecian Tall Cabinet. If you ladies are anything like us, there isn’t enough storage for all the things we’ve acquired over the years, and so the wall cabinets are perfect hiding places for all our rubbish that we just can’t throw out!

If you having a cosy night in this week, what is better than a funny and sweet romantic comedy. We’ve had a vote here in the Marisota HQ and we’ve decided that these are our Top 5 Romantic Comedies but what we really want to know is, what would be in your top 5?

1. Pretty Woman (1990)

Pretty Woman is a fabulous romantic comedy set is Los Angeles, California. It’s a firm favourite around the Marisota office and we’ve all been known to have a girly Saturday night in to watch it. It was released in 1990 with the direction coming from Garry Marshall, Julia Roberts plays her character beautifully and we all love Richard Gere (Who doesn’t .

2. When Harry Met Sally

This brilliant film asks the age old question, can men and woman just be friends? Well, whatever the answer this film is perfect for a chilled night in! Starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal, it’s both funny and with plenty of ‘Aww’ moments.

3. The Wedding Singer (1998)

If you’re after laugh out loud comedy, this is the film for you, we love Adam Sandler‘s character Robbie Hart and Drew Barrymore plays a sweet and lovable waitress.

4. You’ve Got Mail (1998)

Everyone’s a sucker for a love story and You’ve Got Mail is a romantic tale with a difference. The story follows Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) and Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) who both get to know each other without realising they are meant to be together.

5. Sweet Home Alabama (2002)

Starring Reese Witherspoon, Josh Lucas and Patrick Dempsey, Sweet Home Alabama is set in both New York and the gorgeous Alabama. It’s a lovely tale of childhood sweethearts who go their separate ways and realise they still have feelings for each other – it’s funny and sweet.
