Welcome to the Marisota girls blog. See what they've been up to lately.
New Marisota clothing collection now live

Me and the girls are very excited now the new Marisota clothing collection for spring/summer  is now live. There’s so much to choose from I headly know where to start!

These are a few of my favourite pieces:

This maxi skirt from Anna Scholz is simply stunning.

This red floral dress is a really flattering shape for curvy figures – it’d be perfect to wear to a summer wedding.

I love the colours in this blouse and the fabric looks light and floaty.

I might treat myself to this pink bra and briefs set – so pretty!

These black wide fitting court shoes will be so useful – yet they’ve got a unique look with a combination of suede, patent and snake print.

You can never have too many handbags! This black suede bow handbag would look fab day or night.

Decisions, decisions….

Maybe I’ll just get the lot!

The demise of dress down friday?

I read this article the other week about how, as times get tight and it becomes every man (and woman) for themself in the work place, people are starting to abandon ‘office casual’ clothes and return to smarter times of shirts, ties and suits in the hope of hanging on to their jobs.

I do think there’s a lot to be said for wearing smart clothes for work. It’s important to make a good impression, especially when you’re meeting customers or patients face to face. Then again, you don’t want intimidate anybody either. Well, I don’t anyway! Also, if you’re wearing something all day long you need to be comfortable. I’m glad I’m a woman and can choose from so many styles of clothes - I always hated wearing a shirt and tie at school. Hot, uncomfortable – and boring!

Marisota makes dressing for work easy – I love their plus size range of soft tailoring. You can mix and match to suit your mood and it’s got just the right blend of smart and feminine.

I love these plus size linen suit separates. You can choose stretch linen trousers or a pencil skirt to go with the ladies’ linen jacket and there’s a choice of cream or coral – perfect for the spring/summer season. And, because it’s Marisota, both the skirt and the trousers are available in a shorter length option. Hurray!

Spring fashion trend 6 – Western

I wasn’t so sure about ‘Western’ as a fashion trend when I first read about it – never been a big one for cowboy boots or cowboy hats! However if you start thinking pretty prairie-style prints teamed with tan coloured leather and durable denim jeans you’ve got a really wearable look. Don’t forget fab tasselled accessories to complete your outfit. Yee-haw!

So that rounds off our focus on top fashion trends for Spring – and how to get the look in a plus size clothes range at Marisota. We’ve had Safari, Geometric, Metallic, Neutrals, Brights and Western. Which will you be wearing?

Spring fashion trend 5 – Brights

Well, the weather certainly doesn’t look like it’s going to cheer up any time soon. So it makes the next big fashion trend for spring a particularly appealing one just now – Brights! The brighter and bolder the better. From fiery red, to sunshine yellow and rich magenta these Marisota plus size clothes are sure to lift any mood – whatever the weather.

Spring fashion trend 4 – Neutrals

It’s impossible to feel neutral over this fashion trend – I love it! Usually I go for big and bold colours but there is something so pretty and feminine about these muted colours, and just perfect for warmer spring days. Don’t forget nude coloured underwear to wear underneath -it’s a much better bet than white lingerie which can show through pale colours.

Spring fashion trend 3 – Metallic

If you fancy putting a little sparkle in your style then this is the spring fashion trend for you! Metallic and glitter-knit fashion used to be the realm of eveningwear, but this season it’s all about the day-time dazzle, from tops and accessories to wide fitting shoes. You can get lots of gorgeous metallic looks in a plus size fashion range from Marisota - check these out:

Spring fashion trend 2 – Geometric

The next top trend for spring is GEOMETRIC.

Think bold graphic prints in vivid colours or a classic monochrome colour palette.

It’s hip to be square!

Six key fashion trends for Spring – Trend 1 Safari

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for all the snow to offically go away so I can focus on some new looks to freshen up my wardrobe. I’ve been wearing the same old clothes all through the winter and I’m really in the mood for something new.

This feature highlights all of the major fashion trends for Spring ’09. Obviously catwalk fashion always demonstrates any trend to an extreme degree, but these trends actually look quite easy to achieve on a less dramatic scale. So, I thought I’d take a look at one trend per day and show how easy it can be to get the look in a plus size fashion range from Marisota.

So first up – SAFARI

Think animal print, neutral shades, tribal jewellery and funky sandals… simple!

So what do you think? Time to take a walk on the wild side?

Snow joke… I’ve got no snow clothes!

I can’t believe the chaos the snow is causing. They’ve sent Joanne home from school… and I’ve had patients cancelling on me left right and centre! So I’ve decided to spend some time with Jo and get out in the snow. I’ve got virtually no sensible clothes for the this kind of weather though. I was just thinking about putting together a nice new wardrobe for spring when this blizzard hits!

A little ensemble from the Marisota plus size fashion collection like this one would be perfect:

As it is I’ll just stick with my old jeans and coat for today… but maybe I’ll get prepared for next time the snow comes bucketing down!

Ah well – I don’t suppose it’ll matter today as the only eligible batchellor I’m likely to meet in the back garden is a snowman!
